Transport

ORGANISATION OF THE DEPARTMENT:

            It is to submit that the Transport Department in Medchal-Malkajgiri District is reorganized from the erstwhile Rangareddy District. The District is headed by District Transport Officer, Medchal, and the offices under D.T.O. are Regional Transport office, Uppal headed by R.T.O. located at Uppal and Unit Office Kukatpally headed by Motor Vehicles Inspector located at Kukatpally.

 

The Chairman Regional Transport Authority is District Collector and Secretary, Regional Transport Authority is District Transport Officer, Medchal and the Assistant Secretary, Regional Transport Authority is R.T.O Uppal. The staff working in all the three offices of the department in the District offices is as below:

 

The Total staff working under District Transport Office, Medchal- Malkajgiri District including RTO Uppal and Unit office Kukatpally is 35 (thirty five).

The following services are provided to the citizens of Transport Department:

  • Issue of Learning Licenses/Driving Licenses/Related transactions.
  • Registration of Motor Vehicles and related transactions.
  • Issue of Fitness Certificates to all type of the Motor Vehicles.
  • Issue of Road Permits to all type of the Motor Vehicles.
  • Collection of Taxes in respect of Motor Vehicles.
  • Issue of Authorization to the dealers of Motor Vehicles to issue Temporary Certificate of Registration.
  • Issue of authorization for establishment of Motor Driving Schools.
  • Issue of authorizations for establishment of Pollution Testing Stations.
  • Enforcement work by the Motor Vehicles Inspectors and Asst. Motor Vehicles Inspectors to check the Motor Vehicles and to book the cases for violation of Motor Vehicles Act and Rules made there under.
  • Inspection of Motor Vehicles involved in accidents under section 304 (A) of IPC.
  • Conducting of Road Safety Awareness Campaigns on Road Safety related matters is done on quarterly basis regularly.
  • Issue of valuation and condemnation certificates to the Motor Vehicles by the Executive Staff.

 

The payments will be done in the following mode:

  1. Online Payments through- Net banking.
  2. Mee-Seva
  3. Demand draft
  4. Cash (Less than 0.10%).

The Revenue collected in the Transport Department from 01.01.2019 to 01.02.2020 is

Rs 607.84 Crores and the present vehicle strength as on 01.02.2020 is 1601670.
