Mines & Geology

The Department of Mines &Geology is a promotional :mineral regulatory and mineral revenue collections wing of the State Government.

Promotional Activity: Geological & Mineral Investigations for identification of new deposits evaluation of mineral resources in coordination with Geological Survey of India, Mineral Exploration Corporation  Ltd,Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation etc.

Regulatory Activity: The office of  the Asst.Director of Mines &Geology, Medchal-Malkajgiri District receives applications for quarry leases for (31) minerals & other minor minerals through online and are referred to Revenue Department for No Objection Certificate after obtaining NoC the applications shall be processes and disposed as per Rule 12(2) & (3) of TSMMC Rules,1966 by the Department in the order of preference with priority to Waddera Socities: Labour Contract Coop.Socities: Govt.Department and Unemployed with qualification in Geology/Geophysics/Mining Engineering.

District Mineral Foundation Trust: The quarry lease holders & Government Engineering Departments contribute 30% on Seigniorage Fee towards District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT).The amount deposited in DMFT Account upto 31.12.2021(since inception of this office i.e. from,11.10.2016) is  Rs.3790.55Lakhs.
