Medchal-Malkajigiri District is situated in North direction of Telangana State capital. The District is located in the direction of 17.6297°N, 78.4814°E. latitude and Longitude. Medchal – Malkajgiri carved out of erstwhile Ranga Reddy district (Dt. 11.10.2016), the new district of Medchal – Malkajgiri is bounded by Siddipet District on North, Sangareddy District on West, Yadadri District on East, Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts on South. The important river that flows in the district is Musi, which forms the southern boundary of the district. The district constitute of 15 mandals, (2) Revenue Divisions with total area of 5,005.98 km2 (1,932.82 sq mi). With 33 lakh population, is the second most populous district in the state of Telangana. Average Temperature 32 C with maximum 44 C and 9 C minimum. District Average Rain Fall 781.051 mm.

Horticulture Department is committed to water conservation, afforestation at the same time maintaining the nutrient security to the citizens by implementing different schemes like Mission for integrated development of Horticulture (MIDH), Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Telangana State Micro Irrigation Project (TSMIP), Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH), State Bamboo Mission (SBM) & Sub Mission For Agro Forestry (SMAF) under cluster mode.
