District Election Officer, Collector Gautham said that the process of scrutiny of the nominations filed in the five assembly constituencies of the district was conducted on Monday.District Election Officer, Collector Gautam said on Monday that all the sets of nominations filed by 71 candidates in five assembly constituencies in the district were rejected due to various reasons. A total of 261 candidates filed nominations under the five assembly segments, while 71 candidates’ nominations were rejected during scrutiny, he said. He said that only the nominations of 190 candidates were valid. In Medchal Assembly constituency, nominations of 67 candidates were valid while nominations of 38 candidates were rejected, the Collector said. In Malkajgiri constituency, nominations of 41 candidates were valid while 8 nominations were rejected. In Kutubullah Pur Constituency, 22 candidates were valid, while 10 candidates’ nominations were rejected. The nominations of 26 candidates were valid while 12 candidates were rejected in Kukatipally urban segment, he said. District Electoral Officer, Collector Gautham said that 34 candidates’ nomination papers were valid and 3 nominations were rejected in Uppal constituency.
