Medchal – Malkajigiri District Election Officer and Collector Gautham said that necessary measures should be taken to ensure that the officers and staff are ready for the elections throughout the district in view of the state assembly elections.On Saturday, a special review meeting was held with the nodal officers of the district along with the District Additional Collector Vijayendar Reddy and District Revenue Officer Haripriya at the District Collectorate meeting hall.On this occasion, District Election Officer, Collector Gautham said that he inquired about the complete details of the cases and work done by the SST and FST teams so far to prevent illegal distribution of cash, alcohol and drugs in the Modal Code of Conduct (MCC) elections.Also discussed with the officials about the measures taken by the cost inspector team in the district. Officials explained in the meeting that so far 229 complaints have been received through the Sea-Whistle app and the problems related to them have been resolved.The complaints coming to the control room and the actions being taken are known. Also collected complete information on complaints and phone calls received on toll free number 1800 425 2050. The officials explained that till now the awareness of the voters, importance of vote etc. is being done in the district under the auspices of the sweep and advised them to create more awareness.The District Election Officer and Collector Gautham discussed the details collected so far regarding the postal ballot in the district and gave suggestions on the steps to be taken. In addition to this, the officials told the collector that 2,419 calls were received on the 1950 toll free number.District Election Officer, Collector Gautham directed that the officials at the check posts should always be alert so that every complaint received is resolved by the concerned officer. District Election Officer and Collector Gautham suggested that even if there is knowledge about it, necessary arrangements should be made to hire staff for webcasting on election day. It has been more than 80 years under Form 12D, PWD voters are being given the facility of early voting by allowing the Election Commission to vote from home, he said.He said that information will be given to the leaders of all the parties in the case of voting from home. He said that the employees who will participate in the election duties will be given the opportunity to exercise their right to vote through postal ballot. He said that there is a need to create more awareness in this regard to take all kinds of measures so that 100 percent polling is done in the legislative assembly elections in the district.Later, District Election Officer and Collector Gautham made it clear that the nodal officers mentioned some issues in the meeting and will take necessary action.
