Deputy Election Commissioner SH Ajay Badu, headed by the expenditure control team from the Central Election Commission, along with state chief election officer Vikas Raj, participated in a video conference from the State Election Commission office in Hyderabad on Monday.
District Election Officer, Collector Gautham, District Additional Collector Vijayendar Reddy, District Revenue Officer Haripriya, Election Officers Srinivasa Murthy, Narsimha, Krishna Reddy and election staff participated from the District Collectorate.
On this occasion, the District Election Officer, Collector Gautam, the Chief Electoral Officer of the State Election Commission told them that they are following the instructions of the Election Commission and said in a video meeting that arrangements will be made for the district-wide elections. On this occasion till now the authorities and police have collected a total of Rs. 43, 62, 23, 331 (forty three lakhs sixty two lakhs twenty three thousand three hundred and thirty one rupees) cash and gold were seized. Out of which Rs. 18, 95,31,161 (Rupees Eighteen Crore Ninety Five Lakh Thirty One Thousand One Hundred Sixty One) in cash, Rs. 24,66,92,170 (Twenty Four Crore Sixty Six Lakh Ninety Two Thousand One Hundred Seventy Rupees) jewels and 1,24,098 liters of liquor were seized, District Election Officer and Collector Gautam said. Also, 645 cases have been registered in connection with the excise department… 321 people have been arrested. In these cases, the officials of the District Grievance Committee examined all kinds of certificates and in respect of the cases where all kinds of evidences are correct, Rs. District Election Officer and Collector Gautam has clarified that there is no proper evidence that 8,69, 30, 114 have been handed over Rs.4,25 (four crore twenty five lakh). Apart from this, the cases related to the Grievance Committee have been examined and disposed of if there is proper evidence. Also, in those cases, Income Tax, Commercial Tax, GST will be given information and FIR will be registered for the cases. District Election Officer and Collector Gautham said that special review meetings have already been held three times with the Income Tax, GST, Commercial Tax officers as well as Flying Squad, Surveillance and other teams across the district. It was explained that if more than Rs.10 lakh cash etc. is found during inspections in the district, income tax is sent to them. The District Election Officer and Collector Gautham told the officials in a video conference that the code of conduct for elections is being strictly enforced throughout the district and the police, election officers and staff are performing their duties very responsibly.
