Elaborating on the arrangements for conducting the elections, the total number of voters in the district (28,19,067) is 28 lakh 19 thousand 067 out of which males (14,59,629) are 14 lakhs 59 thousand 629 and females (13,59,057) are 13 lakhs 59 thousand 057 and third gender is 381 persons.He said that there are 2397 polling stations in 438 locations across the district, of which there are 2239 urban polling stations, 158 rural police stations. Critical polling centers have been identified in five constituencies and webcasting has been arranged in the polling centers.He said that after the completion of the first randomization process, Evium, Vivipot and CU have been provided to the ROs of the respective constituencies. That action will be taken from time to time on the complaints received in the district, similarly to ensure that there is no delay in the issuance of permits, and speedy action will also be taken on violations. He said that a control room has been set up in IDOC to receive complaints related to the violation of election rules and complaints are also received through the toll free number of C. Vigil, 1950. Election Officer, Collector Gautham explained that as soon as the complaints were received, the FST and SST teams took steps to respond immediately, installed advanced PTZ cameras on their vehicles and monitored them through the control room.
He said that check posts have been set up at 14 places in the border areas and are being monitored through CC cameras. He said that the first randomization of EVMs has been completed and they have been moved to the constituency centers and kept in strong rooms. Training classes have also been conducted for the polling staff and duties will be assigned in the respective polling centers through multiple randomization.He said that all steps have been taken to ensure the proper implementation of the Election Code, and armed supervision is being done by appointing relevant committees. He said that the committees set up to calculate the election expenditure of the candidates and the respective parties are already examining all the ways from the field level. Electoral Officer, Collector Gautham said that a special vigilance has been set up on the distribution of cash, liquor and other goods so as not to tempt the voters in the elections.
For the registration of new voters who have completed 18 years of age in the district, special sweep programs have been organized as constituencies, arrangements have been made for 24,768 persons with disabilities and 33,216 old people in the district, and Form-12Ds have been provided by BLOs as part of home voting, for this as constituencies. Election Officer, Collector Gautham explained that nodal officers have also been appointed.He said that on 18th of this month, the second round of randomization of EVMs will be done and according to that list, control, ballot units and VV.Pats will be allotted to the polling stations. In accordance with EC directives, 25 percent CUs, B.Us and 40 percent VV.Pats will be allocated additionally (reserve). . He said that 310 candidates have filed 356 sets of nominations for five constituencies in the district.He said that action will be taken from time to time on the complaints received in the district, similarly to ensure that there is no delay in the issuance of permits, action will also be taken quickly on violations.
Later, Rachakonda Commissioner Mr. DS Chauhan IPS and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Mr. Stephen Ravindra IPS said that there is a calm atmosphere throughout the district and no untoward incidents have taken place anywhere.It was explained that four inter-state check posts and inter-district check posts have been set up in the district boundaries to prevent acts of enticing voters and are conducting continuous checks.He said that a coordination meeting was held with the border district police and measures were taken to prevent illegal liquor, cash and other goods from coming from the border area.
